Links:
After the introduction of Mercury Bay to the world of the Internet by Mercury Bay Online, there are MANY websites for operators in this area.
General:
Mercury Bay Online - emphasis is on local information with links to many local operators.
Whitianga.co.nz - less information but more links (many do not work) but you'll have to go through them for access to the Info Centre's booking service.
Knitting:
Cloverdale Knitwear (Coroglen) - Wendy creates beautiful jerseys, waistcoats and felted hats to order and still has time to tend her small flock of alpacas and host visitors at the Coroglen Lodge.
Gallery:
Between Auntie Dawns
Place and the Cafe, you will find the "Moko" gallery which makes
and sells jewellry, plants, pots and other interesting things. "Moko" featured on Maggie Barries garden show recently because it's so nice and sells
quality items.
"Hot Water Beach shop" sells ice creams drinks sandwiches, etc.
"Hot Waves Cafe" sells great coffee and meals.

The area around Mercury Bay used to be known for its kauri forests, gum
and flax (visit the Mercury
Bay Museum for more information). Today, water
sports (boating, fishing, sailing, surfing and kayaking),
craftspersons (bone carvers, potters, spinners, knitters and painters) and
it's visitors dominate the
scene.
For more information about this area, visit Mercury
Bay Online.
